Advanced Hybrid TechnologyThe reason why most countries’ governments and international car manufacturers are becoming so concerned with hybrids and hydrogen vehicles is that, ecologically speaking, we may be living on borrowed time. The planet needs saving now and that means that steps must be taken without delay in the direction of replacing the traditional combustion engine vehicles with hybrid vehicles and with hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.First of all, they have a very high level of efficiency. Fuel cells are energy conversion devices, just like generators. They convert their stored energy into usable energy. Energy is extracted directly in the form of heat, due to the fact that fuel cells are able to use electrochemical reactions to this very purpose. Internal combustion engines, on the other hand, used to extract energy through a controlled explosive reaction. Conversion via fuel cells is much more efficient since fuel cells convert the energy in a single step and there’s no need to follow several other steps that were needed with internal combustion engines. Scientific studies show that in several years, fuel cell vehicles could make it possible for us to almost not need traditional fuels at all and the emission of exhaust fumes will be reduced by 80% if not more. This sound extraordinary but it is achievable on condition that companies and governments agree to work together for the higher good of everyone. Hybrid technology is already an important step: around 2 million hybrid vehicles are on the roads right now and there are about 30 different hybrid car models available. People are starting to prefer buying a hybrid as they become more and more environmentally concerned. Hybrids pollute less, they make less noise, they are easy to operate and they are getting more and more advanced each year. Hybrids and all electric vehicles can also be used in factories, on golf courses and for public transportation. |
